Sam McIntosh

Sam McIntosh grew up in a small inland Australian town called Casino. When he turned 13, his parents moved to the coast and thus began his love affair with the ocean. McIntosh poured over every surf mag he could when he was young and after producing a learn-to-surf book with Taj Burrow, he hatched the idea of starting his own publication with Derek Reilly. He went on to found a not-so-little Australian surf mag called Stab that has blown the doors open on the modern surf scene. He also charges a not-so-little surf break called “Ours” sometimes before work. McIntosh is the director of The Dock (Mountainfilm 2018).
