Renan Ozturk is a globally recognized climber, artist and filmmaker known for his dauntless spirit and visual storytelling. Ozturk was awarded the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year under the title of “The Artist” in 2013. Some of his clients include The North Face, Outside Magazine and National Geographic — all which have helped him push his filmmaking to both the extremes of the art and the extremes of the earth. His multiple successes with film festivals and worldwide online audiences, along with his almost real-time videos of climbing expeditions, has helped Ozturk become one of the frontrunners in the outdoor industry. In his 2014 film El Sendero Luminoso (Mountainfilm 2014), Ozturk focuses his lens on climbing legend Alex Honnold, free-soloing a route in Mexico that “could be the most difficult ropeless climb in history.” Taking off with Telluride local, Hilaree O'Neil, Ozturk traveled to Burma and documented their team's expedition through thick and very thin in the film Down to Nothing (Mountainfilm 2015). Profiling an Alaska Native and aviator, Ozturk's film Denali's Raven (Mountainfilm 2017) is the next in a long line of beautiful films.
