Reed Rickert
A rock climber, explorer and filmmaker, Reed Rickert is always drawn to stories of adventure and natural and cultural conservation. Traveling around the world to produce, direct, photograph and edit documentaries, television programs and commercial films, Rickert seeks to share different realities on the big screen. Hist first feature documentary The Third Root (2016), was the recipient of the Latino Public Broadcasting Open Call Award, and he has gone on to work on many additional films including Walila: The Modern Sound of North African Sacred Music (2016) and The Flip (Mountainfilm 2020), which won National Geographics Wild To Inspire short film competition. His most recent film Reel Rock 16: Cenote (Mountainfilm 2022) showcases Adolfo "Fito" Trujillo, a Yucatán local establishing routes in the otherworldly sinkholes of Mexico.
