Nils Hedinger

Swiss animator Nils Hedinger is best known for his comedic, yet cannibalistic short film Timber (2017), a simple and funny, yet horrifying metaphor for our society — a group of logs struggling to survive a freezing apocalyptic night by keeping the fire burning, with each other’s bodies. Hedinger’s recent work includes short parodying pieces of animation in the feature film Disordered (2019) — an intimate milieu study of three families over three years and the scrutiny of certain patterns, specifically that of fathers doing more family work than mothers. His animated film Kuap (Mountainfilm 2020) tells the story of a tadpole who misses out on becoming a frog and is left behind.
