Michael Hanson

Michael Hanson grew up in Atlanta and played minor league baseball for the Atlanta Braves before turning his focus to the camera. A self-taught photographer and videographer, his travel and documentary work has taken him to over 27 countries. His first book Breaking Through Concrete documents urban farming in America, and he directed directed Who Owns Water (Mountainfilm 2014). Hanson was named a PDN30 New and Emerging Photographer in 2013. Other awards include One of the World's Top Travel Photographers by Popular Photography magazine and Images of the Year by American Photo.
