Melanie Carrier

Since an early age, Melanie Carrier’s passion for sport climbing has led her and her longtime collaborator, Olivier Higgins, to some of the most breathtaking cliffs in the world. It also led them to discover another passion: filmmaking. The pair’s 2007 film Asiemut, which chronicles their bicycle journey from Mongolia to India, won 35 international awards and was broadcast on television in nearly two dozen countries. Carrier later published a book about the journey. The two then founded MoFilms, a production company in Quebec City. Their new film is Ice Philosophy (Mountainfilm 2013).
