Matthias Edlinger

German-born Matthias Edlinger’s unique directing style combines precise pre-production and willingness to improvise on set. His commitment is driven by interest in the stories and feelings of his subject, regardless of whether he portrays a hiphop-artist, an athlete or an average Joe. Aside from his award-winning films, commercials and music videos, Edlinger enjoys directing documentaries, especially portraying extraordinary people, as exemplified in Masters of Slack (Mountainfilm 2016). He has also written several books and works as a visual artist.
