Mary Turner is the deputy editor of Outside magazine, where she has written about biking across the United States, Colorado’s best mountain town chefs, surfing Sri Lanka’s empty breaks and the waves at Montauk. Before joining the Outside team, she worked in New York at Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and Allure.
