Mary Louise Lincoln

ML Lincoln got her start in video journalism as a young woman with a Super 8 camera in the early 1970s. Today, she is a documentary filmmaker whose recent projects have focused on well-known activists of the American Southwest. Her 2007 short, Drowning River, chronicles feisty folksinger Katie Lee’s decades-long battle against the Glen Canyon Dam, and Wrenched explores the real-life characters who inspired Edward Abby’s notorious novel The Monkey Wrench Gang. Lincoln has also worked on film crews in Los Angeles, developed workshops for troubled youth in Arizona and taken photographs that have appeared in national publications.
