Maceo Frost

With a streetdance legend for a father and a skateboarding mother, street culture has always been in award-winning filmmaker Maceo Frost’s DNA. His films offer intimate portraits of individuals — from Cuban boxer Namibia Flores Rodriguez in Too Beautiful: Our Right to Fight (2018), to the dancers of Compton and South Central Los Angeles in Raised by Krump (2016), to a poetic short film documenting the emotional bond between a fisherman father and his surfer daughter in Daughter of the Sea (Mountainfilm 2020).
