Leo Hoorn

Leo Hoorn’s love of skateboarding and snowboarding ignited his career in filmmaking. Today, as a cinematographer and editor at Sherpas Cinema, he relies on his backcountry skills, keen shooting eye and editing experience to film extreme athletes and create world-class films. Originally from Smithers, British Columbia, Hoorn now resides in Whistler, British Columbia. His film The Great Siberian Traverse (Mountainfilm 2016) documents a 6,000-mile ski journey through Russia, along the Trans-Siberian Railway. Together with Jay MacMillan and Mitchell Scott, Hoorn directed Children of the Columbia (Mountainfilm 2019).
