Laura Poitras

With a courageous approach to filmmaking, Laura Poitras as taken on some of the most pivotal political stories of our time and been acknowledged with an Academy Award, a MacArthur Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Creative Capital grant and a Peabody Award. She is the director of Risk (Mountainfilm 2017), a deeply personal film, six years in the making, that follows Julian Assange — the Australian founder of WikiLeaks. Other works include Project X and a post 9/11 trilogy: My Country, My Country; The Oath; and Citizenfour.
