Kimberly Reed

Named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film,” Kimberly Reed uses her position as the first commercially released transgender filmmaker to tell compelling stories. Her debut feature, Prodigal Sons, screened at the Telluride Film Festival and won the FIPRESCI prize, and her work has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, CNN, NPR and the Moth Radio Hour. Prompted by her home state of Montana’s prohibition of corporate campaign contributions and the 2010 Supreme Court decision in favor of Citizens United, Reed directed the documentary Dark Money (Mountainfilm 2018), which was shortlisted for an Oscar.
