JP Auclair

Skier and filmmaker JP Auclair has pushed boundaries and become a pioneer in both domains. A segment from his 2011 award-winning film All.I.Can (Mountainfilm 2012) garnered 124,000 views during its first day online, and Into the Mind (Mountainfilm 2014) takes viewers on a journey to Alaska, Bolivia, the Himalaya and beyond. As a skier, he was one of the first to popularize grabbing in ski tricks; won the first U.S. Open, one of freeskiing’s earliest competitions; and helped create a revolutionary ski model, the Salomon Teneighty. In 2002, Auclair founded Armada Skis, followed by the nonprofit organization Alpine Initiatives in 2008.
