Jorn Nyseth Ranum

Jørn Nyseth Ranum has been filming since he first got his hands on his father’s video camera at a young age. He studied at Nordland College of Art and Film in Lofoten, Norway, and with his classmate Inge Wegge, embarked upon a nine-month adventure, living in a cabin made of driftwood on a remote arctic island off of the Norwegian coast and surfing some of the coldest waters in the world. The experience is the subject of Ranum and Wegge’s film Nord for Sola (Mountainfilm 2013). Stars Above Lofoten (Mountainfilm 2014) is about the universe from a teenager’s perspective. Ranum is the director of the skateboarding film Mot Nord (Mountainfilm 2016).
