Johnny Burke

Johnny Burke is a London man concerned with all things film. He is a producer, director and film editor who learned his craft at Cinecontact Productions under the guidance of the renowned observational filmmakers Sean McAllister and Kim Longinotto. He then spent 10 years editing documentary films for broadcast, such as the award-winning films Boys From Baghdad High and The Yes Men Fix the World. Burke expanded his resume when he produced an extended news feature on Syria for Channel 4 News and the award-winning feature documentary Japan: A Story of Love and Hate. He established High Altitude Films and has directed various other films, such as Suicide Bridge, The World Naked Bike Ride, and his 2014 documentary Tashi and the Monk. This human-focused film is able to move audiences from explorations into the darkest depths of human existence to the fleeting moments of light.
