Jamie DiNicola

Based in Brooklyn, Jamie DiNicola is an activist, writer and award-winning filmmaker. As a queer transgender man, DiNicola has made storytelling the cornerstone of his queer and trans-activist work. Over the years he’s made several short documentaries, gaining the most recognition for the short narrative film Spot (2017), which he wrote, directed and produced. The film broke new ground for its entirely transgender cast playing non-transgender specific roles. DiNicola was featured in HuffPost’s “10 Trans Filmmakers You Should Know” and has a web series, Queer & Down. As one of the co-directors of Venture Out (Mountainfilm 2020), DiNicola reveals the role of nature in healing and creating life-saving community bonds for LGBTQ people.
