James Burns

James Burns is a director and producer of Jamesy Boy (2014), We Live This (2015) and Revolving Doors (2017). Burns is personally and deeply invested in creating character-driven films that take on complex and systemic issues and is known for his ability to gain unique access to difficult spaces. He won the Tribeca Film Festival Special Jury Mention Award (2015), was selected for the Saatchi & Saatchi New Director Showcase at Cannes Lion (2016) and was nominated for the D&AD Next Director Award (2017). Burns’ work has been presented on Netflix, Independent Lens, Vice/HBO and Amazon Prime and is the director of the film The Water Walker (Mountainfilm 2022 - ONLINE ONLY).
