Ian Derry is an experienced celebrity photographer known for an exquisite eye and collaborative style. “You need to bond with the person you are shooting,” says Derry, who has photographed some of the biggest stars in the world — from actors and politicians to royalty. It’s this philosophy that led Derry to the world of directing film. His debut short film Johanna Under the Ice (Mountainfilm 2017) is a portrait of an Arctic free diver.
