Hunter Robert Baker

Hunter Robert Baker is an Emmy-winning director based in New York City, Los Angeles and the Navajo Nation. He received the 2018 International Cinematographers Guild Emerging Cinematographer Award and is an alumnus of NYU. Together with director and editor Jorden Fein, Baker works to tell under-reported stories that bring to light voices not often heard. Their feature-length documentary The Blessing (Mountainfilm 2019) received a Points North Fellowship and focuses on the vital importance of protecting indigenous lands and culture. Baker's projects have received support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the International Documentary Association, and he was invited to speak at the Impact Haus during the 2016 Sundance Film Festival on “Empathy in Telling Insider Stories.” Independent Magazine named him a “Filmmaker to Watch” in 2016.
