Greg Child

Greg Child is an Australian-born writer, climber, filmmaker and mountaineer who has ascended Gasherbrum IV (1986), K2 (1990) and Everest (1995). Well-known for his first ascents of rock walls in Australia and the U.S., Child has contributed articles to Outside, Men’s Journal, Climbing and Rock and Ice, and authored the books Thin Air: Encounters in the Himalayas, Postcards from the Ledge, Mixed Emotions and Over the Edge and Climbing Free (with Lynn Hill). He received the American Alpine Club’s Literary award in 1987.
