Eric Flagg
Eric Flagg left a successful career as an environmental scientist to pursue an interest that he thought could significantly impact the world — documentary filmmaking. Moonlighting as a college digital film instructor, Flagg makes films with a focus on environmental issues, American history and off-beat characters. Gimme Green (Mountainfilm 2007), a graduate school film project made with fellow student Isaac Brown, studies America’s obsession with its largest irrigated crop: lawns. Terra Blight (Mountainfilm 2012), also made with Brown, looks at the environmental component that accompanies our gargantuan appetite for computers. Flagg and Brown were awarded a Mountainfilm Commitment grant for Terra Blight in 2010.
