Elizabeth Unger

Elizabeth Unger is a National Geographic Explorer and filmmaker who has worked and traveled across all seven continents. She's a two-time Sundance Documentary Film Program Grantee and was selected in 2022 for DOC NYC's 40 UNDER 40 list. Her award-winning feature directorial debut Tiger Gente (Mountainfilm 2022) World premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in 2021, screened at more than 35 film festivals internationally and will be broadcast by National Geographic in 2023. Unger received a 2019 Mountainfilm Commitment Grants for her feature film Madidi. An environmentalist and activist, Unger finds herself drawn to challenging, immersive, and impact-driven projects that can break through the boundaries set in her own mind. Most recently she directed Batsies (Mountainfilm 2023).
