Eddie Roqueta

Eddie Roqueta is a National Geographic Young Explorer grant recipient, festival coordinator for the International Wildlife Film Festival and an emerging documentary filmmaker whose first film, Silencing the Thunder, explores the sometimes-lethal management of bison in Yellowstone National Park. With support from National Geographic, Roqueta documented conservation efforts for the sun bear, the smallest and least known of the world’s eight living bear species that’s fighting for survival in Borneo because of deforestation by the palm oil industry and poaching for the pet trade.
