Ed Kashi

Dedicated to documenting the social and political issues of our time, photojournalist, filmmaker and educator Ed Kashi has produced a number of short films, among them Under Cane, a film about the health of male sugarcane workers in Nicaragua, and California: Paradise Burning (Mountainfilm 2015), a film produced on assignment for The New Yorker that documents the struggle of farmers working through the Californian drought. He is a member of VII Photo agency and — along with his wife, writer and filmmaker Julie Winokur — runs Talking Eyes Media, a nonprofit that produces films, exhibits, books and multimedia pieces exploring social issues.
