Douglas Gayeton

From a farm in California, multi-media artist, filmmaker, writer, photographer and lecturer Douglas Gayeton and his wife run a production company called Rumplefarm, which recently created “The Lexicon of Sustainability,” a multi-platform project based on the premise that people can’t live more sustainable lives if they don’t know the basic terms and principles that define sustainability. To put together the lexicon, they traveled across the United States to learn this new language, which includes such words as “urban apiary,” “methane digesters” and “heritage breeds” — from the foremost practitioners of these methods, creating compelling multi-media portraits for the terms.
