Denis Delestrac

Denis Delestrac is a journalist and photographer turned filmmaker responsible for prize-winning documentaries that spark public debate and influence political decision-making on an international level. He directed Pax Americana and the Weaponization of Space (2009) and Sand Wars (2013) and has won 15 awards including a Gold Panda, the Greenpeace Prize and a Gemini Award. He directed Freightened (2016), which was selected at more than 60 festivals and broadcast in more than 20 territories worldwide. Delestrac’s most recent film McCurry: The Pursuit of Color (Mountainfilm 2022) is an intimate feature film showcasing the contemporary photojournalist Steve McCurry and how his vulnerabilities set him on the path to greatness.
