David Garrett Byars made his directorial debut at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival with No Man's Land (Mountainfilm 2017), a documentary about the 2016 occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge that sparked international headlines. Byars later produced and filmed Massacre River (Mountainfilm 2019) directed by Mountainfilm Festival Director Suzan Beraza. His latest directorial work, Public Trust (Mountainfilm 2020), delves into the modern-day threat to America’s public lands.
