Dani Menkin

A two-time Israeli Academy Award winner, Dani Menkin has worked on a long list of narrative and documentary films, including 39 Pounds of Love (2005), Dolphin Boy (2011), Is That You? (2014), On the Map (2016) and Aulcie (2020). Menkin is also an internationally renowned speaker, film festival juror, co-founder of Hey Jude Productions and film professor at universities in Israel and the U.S. Known for connecting the subjects in his work to a larger context, Menkin collaborated with Yonatan Nir to direct Picture of His Life (Mountainfilm 2020), which tells the story of celebrated underwater photographer Amos Nachoum’s quest for an underwater photo of polar bears.
