Dan Wayne
Dan Wayne studied photography at Kansas University and film at New York University. Big Fur (Mountainfilm 2020) is his first feature film, and in it, Wayne sets out to explore the puzzling and destructive stereotypes dividing hunters and environmentalists — two groups who don’t play well together but share the same goal: conserving wilderness. In Big Fur, he offers a sympathetic insider’s view of taxidermy as an under-appreciated art form. Wayne directed, filmed, produced and helped edit this quirky, yet endearing film — paying for it all through a Kickstarter campaign, where he claimed “taxidermy is hip again.”
