Clayton Vila

Born and raised on Block Island, Rhode Island, Clayton Vila developed a passion for filmmaking at an early age while messing around with his parents’ camcorder. Skiing was a primary obsession, however, and he enjoyed a successful career as a professional skier before rediscovering his love of filmmaking. He has directed feature documentaries, commercials, shorts and award-winning films about the ski industry’s colorful characters. The L.A.-based filmmaker is the director of Cowboy (Mountainfilm 2019).
