Brandon Lavoie

Striving to produce character-driven content, Brandon Lavoie works across the documentary, narrative and commercial disciplines in his work as a film director. Originally from Salem, New Hampshire, he earned a bachelor’s degree in film production from Emerson College. Lavoie was mentored by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barbara Kopple, and later joined her production company as an associate producer and cameraman. These days, he splits his time between Brooklyn and Northern California. Lavoie is the director of Nenad, Who Plays Ping Pong (Mountainfilm 2020) and The Both of Me (Mountainfilm 2021), which examines the coal industry through a third-generation, underground, West Virginia coal miner.
