Bob Mankoff

Cartoonist, editor and author Robert Mankoff is best known for his work at The New Yorker, bringing humor into our everyday lives. Mankoff submitted cartoons to The New Yorker for two years before having one published, but since then has made a name for himself at the magazine and in the industry, today serving as the magazine’s cartoon editor. He is also the creator of The Cartoon Bank, the world’s largest cartoon licensing business, now owned by The New Yorker. He is profiled in the film Very Semi-Serious (Mountainfilm 2015), a documentary about humor, art and the genius of The New Yorker cartoon, which has become a cultural icon over the years.
