Bianca Giaever

Director Bianca Giaever finished The Scared is Scared (Mountainfilm 2013) - which was listed as a Vimeo Top 10 Video of 2013- just a few weeks before she graduated from Middlebury College, where she created her own major in narrative studies. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Giaever is obsessed with recording the conversations she has with people and has made radio pieces on such topics as strangers who have dinner, veterans, poetry teams, her little brother coming out, private prisons and Tibetan immigrants. She is happiest when making films out of radio stories. Giaever’s work has been featured everywhere from The New York Times to the NPR shows “This American Life” and “Radiolab.” The short film I Love You (Mountainfilm 2015) demonstrates her unique ability to share stories with humor.
