New York-based filmmaker Ben Nabors has been recognized by Filmmaker Magazine as one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film, and GOOD Magazine honored him as one of their GOOD 100. His first feature documentary, William and the Windmill, was about William Kamkwamba, the inventor of the windmill. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2013 South by Southwest Film Festival. Nabors also co-wrote and produced the the short film Palimpsest, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and won a Special Jury Prize. In 2015, he wrote and produced Actor Seeks Role, which won the Grand Jury Prize at IFFBoston and had its online premiere with The New Yorker. His film The Happy Film (Mountainfilm 2016) questions man’s ability to train his mind to be happier through a real-life study.
