Photographer and filmmaker Ben Moon covers a diverse range of subjects in the adventure, commercial and music realms. Surviving cancer in his twenties provides him with a great connection to the inspiring individuals he documents and gratitude for the beauty of his surrounding environment. With the Pacific Northwest as his playground and assignments to remote locations worldwide, Moon is accustomed to working in a wide variety of conditions. He is as comfortable 1,500 feet off the ground hanging from a rock face or swimming through heavy surf as he is filming a musician in the studio or onstage. He is the director of Castles in the Sky (Mountainfilm 2014). The short and sweet Rabbit Island (Mountainfilm 2015) asks the question, is there an opposite to development? From the opposite side of the camera, Denali (Mountainfilm 2015) tells the story of Moon's longtime and loyal companion. The 2016 artist-in-residence, Ben Moon, also directed the film Offseason.
