Ashley Brandon

Raised in rural Ohio, Ashley Brandon is interested in telling the stories of small-town America through documentary film. As well as being an award-winning and versatile filmmaker, she is also an educator. Brandon earned an M.F.A. in documentary media from Northwestern University and is an assistant professor of film, television and media arts at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. She is part of the three-person team at Wolf + Me Films, whose manifesto declares “We love making people think and feel.” Brandon is the director of Día de la Madre (Mountainfilm 2020), a short film that follows a group of young mariachis as they travel from home-to-home, surprising their mothers with a Mother’s Day serenade.
