National Geographic Explorer, filmmaker and scientist Alizé Carrère has spent several years traveling the world examining the ways humans are adapting to environmental change. In 2013, Alizé received support from National Geographic to conduct research in Madagascar, where she spent several months uncovering an unlikely agricultural adaptation in response to severe deforestation. Traveling to places as diverse as Bangladesh, Norway and Vanuatu, Carrère studies innovative adaptations to climate change. Her film, Adaptation: Kentucky (Mountainfilm 2020), chronicles ways humans are being resourceful – and thriving – on a changing planet earth.
