Alexandria Bombach

Alexandria Bombach is an award-winning cinematographer, editor and director from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Whether she’s on location in the Wind River Range or filming in the waves of Baja, Bombach is inspired by people who pursue their passions in the outdoors and dedicate themselves to environmental and social issues. Her series “A MoveShake Story” screened at Mountainfilm in 2012 and 2013 and Common Ground was featured at the festival in 2014. Bombach then traveled to Afghanistan with co-director Mo Scarpelli to tell the story of photojournalism in the country after the Taliban regime, resulting in the film Frame by Frame (Mountainfilm 2015). Bombach also directed How We Choose (Mountainfilm 2016). Her new feature-length documentary On Her Shoulders (Mountainfilm 2018) follows Nadia Murad, a 23-year-old Yazidi woman who survived genocide and sexual slavery committed by ISIS.
