Adrian Burgess

Adrian Burgess’ legendary climbing career has been fueled by humor, determination and beer. Adrian and his identical twin brother Alan grew up climbing and exploring in England’s Yorkshire Moors and spent the 1960s and ‘70s chasing winter ascents in the Alps, Patagonia, Peru and the Himalaya. The brothers had a reputation as wild pranksters and their 1994 autobiography The Burgess Book of Lies chronicles their adventures on the sharp end of the rope as well as their infamous barroom brawls and beer brewing at Everest base camp. In addition to an impressive 1989 Everest summit in just 17.5 hours of actual climbing, Adrian Burgess is a photographer, writer and inspirational speaker.
