Cristina Jiménez: The Resilience of Dreamers

Cristina Jiménez, who arrived in the United States from Ecuador as an undocumented immigrant at the age of 13, is co-founder and executive director of United We Dream, a nationwide network of affiliated groups, organizations and individuals focused on addressing the needs of immigrant youth and families. She will discuss the resilient spirit of young people she has encountered in the immigrants’ rights movement, even as the fight for the Dream Act — a battle that’s been marked by back-pedaling, political leveraging and a constant state of uncertainty for the hundreds of thousands of Dreamers it affects — continues.
