Ski Denver and Friends of CAIC Present: Mountainfilm on Tour - Denver


Ski Denver and Friends of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) are proud to reintroduce Mountainfilm on Tour - Denver on Thursday, October 17, at The Oriental Theater.

Started in 1979, Mountainfilm in Telluride is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. Through the years, in and out of trends and fads, the Mountainfilm in Telluride Festival has always been best described by one unchanging word: Inspiring. Year-round and worldwide, Mountainfilm in Telluride takes a selection of festival films out on the road for its Mountainfilm on Tour series, touching the lives of some 30,000 people every year in more than 90 locations on all seven continents.

The event will include a raffle featuring outdoor gear and food trucks. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. All proceeds benefit Ski Denver and Friends of CAIC.

The Denver Nordic Ski Association (“Ski Denver”) is a membership-based nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to expanding winter recreation opportunities in Denver through the growth of cross-country skiing. Our mission is to provide access to well maintained and sustainable cross-country ski areas in Denver, in order to encourage healthy outdoor winter activity, inspire stewardship of public spaces and enrich local communities. We plan to launch a pilot for winter 2013 at Wellshire Golf Course near the University of Denver.

The Friends of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization created to support the CAIC, while contributing to avalanche awareness and education throughout the State of Colorado. As more and more people venture into the Colorado backcountry, it is imperative that we continue to support avalanche forecasting, education and awareness.
