Chanda Chevannes is a producer and director who specializes in documentaries that are both artistic and socially driven. Chevannes believes that film can be a powerful agent of awareness and change. Her award-winning film Living Downstream (Mountainfilm 2012) is based on the book by and about Dr. Sandra Steingraber, a biologist, ecologist and cancer patient. The film is Chevannes’s third documentary and her first feature-length film. It traces the intimate connection between the health of humanity and the health of the planet.
