Beth Gage is a documentary filmmaker in Telluride. Working with her husband, George, she is the writer, co-producer and co-director of six feature-length documentary films. Their first documentary, Fire on the Mountain, premiered at Mountainfilm in 1995, where it won the Grand Prize. Since that time Gage & Gage Productions has premiered five more award-winning documentaries at Mountainfilm, including their new film Bidder 70, which is about Tim DeChristopher, a charismatic and driven, young environmental activist who monkey-wrenched a 2008 BLM oil and gas lease auction that would have affected some of Utah’s most beautiful and environmentally sensitive public lands. DeChristopher, a frequent Mountainfilm special guest, was sentenced to a two-year, federal prison sentence in 2011.
