A Class V expedition kayaker and an Eddie Bauer sponsored athlete, Ben has been featured in a variety of media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and NBC’s Today Show, and was named National Geographic Adventure Hero of the Year in 2007.  He has amassed more first descents than anyone in his generation: 110 firsts in 22 countries.  However, nothing could have prepared him for his first expedition to Africa. Ben presents his story of this groundbreaking and ultimately tragic descent into the heart of Africa and the Congo River in his film Kadoma: The Final Expedition of Hendri Coetzee.
