Erik Boomer

Idaho native, adventure kayaker and explorer Erik Boomer has traveled around the world, running rivers and racking up first descents. Along with Arctic explorer Jon Turk, Boomer’s 2012 circumnavigation of Ellesmere Island, Canada earned him a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year nomination. Also a professional photographer, Boomer’s work has appeared in The New York Times and Outside magazine. A 2016 expedition took him, long with Ben Stookesberry and Sarah McNair-Landry, on a 46-day crossing of the Greenland Ice Cap in search of never-before-paddled rivers that run to the Arctic Ocean. This adventure is depicted in the film Into Twin Galaxies (Mountainfilm 2017).
