Ash Kreis

Ash Kreis is a transgender filmmaker and long-time Colorado Springs resident, now living in Portland, Oregon. Since transitioning she has been approaching film with a fresh eye, focusing on the lives and experiences of members of the LGBT community. She is especially dedicated to finding and filming the most aspirational transgender stories. Her film credits include directing the documentary feature The Fandom and the short Hero. Kreis got her start working on indie features, including The Creep Behind The Camera, The Frame, and Being Evel, produced by Johnny Knoxville. She taught cinematography at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Kreis is the director of We Are Tenacious (Mountainfilm 2023).
