Overview

The Fisher family has lived in Mossville, Louisiana for generations — ever since their enslaved ancestors were freed. But international petrochemical company Sasol has been slowly engulfing the community and pushing residents out of their homes as its industrial site expands. Mossville: When Great Trees Fall follows the lone remaining resident, Stacey Ryan, as he battles health problems caused by toxins from the plants, the indignities of homemade power and sewer systems after the city shuts his off, and what is ultimately an act of bravery against an egregious environmental injustice.
