Meredith Lavitt

Meredith Lavitt has over 20 years of experience working in the independent film arena and in youth media. She is the director of the Sundance Film Forward Initiative for Sundance Institute and recently created the Ignite program, which cultivates and supports a new generation of filmmakers and audience members. Sundance Film Forward is an international touring program designed to enhance greater cultural understanding through story and conversations with filmmakers to excite and introduce a younger audience to the power of storytelling. A filmmaker herself, in 2004 she produced the critically acclaimed documentary Home Front, which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival and on Showtime. In 2014, her film The Grand Rescue premiered at Telluride Mountainfilm.
