Henrique de Castro Perrone
Born in 1981 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Henrique "Ogro" Perrone was introduces to art and handcraft at early ages. After living in Australia, New Zealand and France and working with carpentry and hand-shaped surfboards, he founded Ogro Surfboards, pioneering the production of replicas of historical boards in Brazil. His boards have been ridden by world champions, such as Joel Tudor and Tom Curren, and in 2012 Perrone won the 2012 IF Design Award for a collection of boards drafted with the drawings of artist Heloisa Crocco. Putting his craft to film in 2012, he directed and produced Upcycling (Mountainfilm 2013), which is the winner of several awards and has been seen in over 10 countries.
